Luna - The Little Queen of PASH

In April 2020, during the peak of COVID-19, PASH operated on limited hours, doing our best to help animals in need. One Wednesday, our caregivers called with an urgent plea—a tiny puppy had been hit by a car outside BSP Namaka.

Only eight weeks old, she had severe head trauma and couldn’t walk, eat, or drink. Barely clinging to life, she had a flicker of resilience we refused to ignore. We named her Luna, and from that moment, she became our mission.

With round-the-clock care from our team and our resident vet, Dr. Leilani David, Luna slowly healed.

A wobbly step, a tentative tail wag—each moment a triumph. By then, Leilani was already too attached to let her go.

Luna quickly became the queen of PASH, riding to work in Leilani’s red LandCruiser and charming everyone at the shelter. She made countless friends, playing with rescues until they found homes—though she had already found hers.

Her journey from helpless to fearless is why we do what we do. Today, she lives her best life with Dr. Leilani in the land down under (Australia), but her spirit will always reign at PASH.
